Recipe Ingredients for Cranberry Scones

3/4 cup plain yogurt
1 egg
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup chopped cranberries (fresh or frozen)
1/2 cup sugar
6 g. orange rind
1 tbsp. butter, melted
1/4 cup icing sugar

Recipe Directions for Cranberry Scones

Preheat oven to 375 F. Beat yogurt and egg in small bowl and set aside. In large bowl, measure flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles small peas. Mix in cranberries, sugar and orange rind. Add yogurt mixture and stir until soft dough forms. Using your hands, form dough into a large ball and plac eon flooured surface. Pat out to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut in 2 inch rounds. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake scones for 15-20 minutes. While still warm, brush with butter and sprinkle with icing sugar. Makes 16 small scones.
