This is a cranberry sauce for people who don't like cranberry sauce. A delicious, healthy, and wonderfully aromatic dish to have at the holidays. Can be served with cream cheese, whipped cream, or ice cream for some extra indulgence!

Recipe Ingredients for Cranberry Sauce-ome

1 cup water
12 oz cranberries
8 oz blueberries
1/2 lb red delicious apples, diced
1/4 cup mandarin oranges (canned)
1/3 cup dried cherries
1/3 cup dried apricots, cut in half (if desired)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup Splenda
1 tsp orange extract
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

Recipe Directions for Cranberry Sauce-ome

  1. Bring water to a boil.

  2. Add Splenda and stir until it is dissolved.

  3. Add cranberries and stir.

  4. Add all remaining ingredients and stir.

  5. Reduce heat and cover. Stir occasionally.

  6. Allow fruit to stew until it is soft, cranberries have popped, and the liquid is reduced to a desirable level.

  7. Remove fruit from heat and allow to cool. Serve warm or cold.

  8. *You can also add a dash of your favorite fruit liquer (peach schnapps, Triple Sec...) for some added holiday "spirit!"
