Recipe Ingredients for Cranberry Orange Scones

2 cups all purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon grated orange rind
1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup buttermilk
1 cup dried cranberries
1 tablespoon milk
1 tablespoon sugar

Recipe Directions for Cranberry Orange Scones

  1. Combine first 6 ingredients

  2. Cut in cold butter with pastry blender until crumbly

  3. Add buttermilk and cranberries, stir until moistened

  4. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface, knead six times Pat into 8" circle

  5. Cut circle into ten wedges

  6. Place 1" apart on lightly greased baking sheet

  7. Brush on milk and sprinkle on sugar

  8. Bake at 425 degrees until golden
