Cranberry and almond roll-up cookies; based on recipe by Paula Deen

Recipe Ingredients for Cranberry and almond roll-ups

1 c butter
1/2 lb cream cheese
2 c all purpose flour, sifted
1 pinch salt
1/4 c dried cranberries
1/4 c slivered almonds
1/4 c confectioners' sugar

Recipe Directions for Cranberry and almond roll-ups

  1. Cream butter and cream cheese

  2. add flour and salt to taste

  3. Put dough in wax paper and let sit in refrigerator for a few hours until hardened

  4. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch or thinner on board coated with confectioners sugar

  5. Cut into 1 in x 3 in strips

  6. Place 1 almond sliver and 1 cranberry piece (or more if desired, but don't go overboard) at one end each strip and roll to enclose

  7. Bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown

  8. After cooling, sprinkle with confectioners sugar
