Recipe Ingredients for Cowboy Casserole

7 slices COOKED Center Cut Bacon
2 portion ( yield from 1/2 lb raw meat ) Beef, Ground, 75% Lean Meat / 25% Fat, Crumbles
1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
1 medium (approx 2-3/4" long, 2-1/2" dia) Peppers, Sweet, Red
2.5 cup Beans, Baked
6 oz Barbecue Sauce Original
10 biscuits Biscuits Flaky Layer
4 oz Mild Cheddar Finely Shredded

Recipe Directions for Cowboy Casserole

  1. Fry bacon, set aside.

  2. Brown hamburger and add chopped onion and pepper.

  3. Add crumbled bacon, BBQ sauce and beans to hamburger mixture and heat through until simmering.

  4. Pour entire mixture into baking dish, top with shredded cheese.

  5. Place one can of biscuits (or more if you need them) in a single layer on top of beef mixture.

  6. Bake in 350 degree oven until biscuits are done.
