Recipe Ingredients for cottage/shephards pie

2 lb potato
7 oz parsnips
1 onion
1 kg lamb
3 tbsp olive oil
11 oz carrots
20 fl oz beef stock
2 tbsp tomato puree
2 tbsp plain flour
50 ml whole milk
2 oz butter

Recipe Directions for cottage/shephards pie

  1. boil potatoes and parsnips

  2. mash with butter and milk

  3. fry onions

  4. add carrots

  5. add lamb mince

  6. fry until brown then add flour

  7. add tomato puree, stock and herbs

  8. simmer for 5 minutes

  9. pour mince miture in oven dish, cover with mashed potato and bake in over for 20 minutes or until golden
