2 onions
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp olive oil
2 tbsp gravy

Recipe Directions for Cottage Pie

  1. Fry onions and garlic

  2. Add chopped carrots

  3. add the beef and fry untiil cooked. If there is a lot of fat, then you can drain the fat out of the meat at this point.

  4. Add the beef stock, peas and mushrooms and the tomato puree and stir until it is a reasonalble thick sauce.

  5. Add herbs and spices to taste. I add LOTS of pepper, a bit of oregano and basil and a lot of lea and perrins worcester sauce.

  6. In the meantime, boil the pealed potatoes until they are soft, mash them adding a bit of mayo, butter and milk, until it is creamy - but very stick.

  7. Put the potato on top of the meat mixture until the meat is cocmpleatly covered.

  8. Put sme grated cheese on top of the potato.

  9. Oven cook untill the cheese started to go golden brown.
