Melt butter in a large skillet. Layer sliced potatoes in skillet. Sprinkle with salt, gartlic powder, pepper, cook , covered, over medium heat for 8 minutes. Add onions. Cook , uncovered for 8*10 minutes more or until potatoes are tender and browned.
