Cornmeal Recipe

Makes 10 servings



Great dropped into soups, fried up w/ apple cider jelly or at the bottom of a bowl of chili, Mexican style chicken, etc. - Use an anodized aluminum pan for easy cleanup!!

Recipe Ingredients for Cornmeal

1 c cornmeal, whole grain, fine
1 tbsp canola oil
3/4 tsp kosher salt
1 tsp sugar
1 c cold water
1 1/2 c water (hot goes faster)

Recipe Directions for Cornmeal

  1. preheat oil and "toast" the cornmeal in a non-stick pan until there is a nice corn smell

  2. Add 1 c cold water and blend together

  3. Add salt, sugar and mix

  4. Add about 1 1/2 cups water room temp or hot

  5. Simmer 15-20 min, stirring occasionally

  6. Store unused portion in fridge and scoop out as needed.
