Traditional corned beef and cabbage with potatoes.

Recipe Ingredients for Corned Beef and Cabbage

3 lbs corned beef
1 head, large cabbage raw
4 large onions
8 cloves garlic
12 medium potatoes
2 chicken bouillon cubes
4 cups water

Recipe Directions for Corned Beef and Cabbage

  1. Slice cabbage cutting out heart

  2. Slice onions

  3. chop garlic

  4. rinse corned beef in cold water

  5. wash and quarter potatoes

  6. Place corned beef, water, bouillon cubes, potatoes, and vegetables in stock pot and bring to a boil

  7. Cook on Stove Top or in Slow Pot Cooker

  8. Stove Top Directions

  9. Turn heat down and simmer on low heat for 2-3 hours checking frequently to ensure water doesn't evaporate off before food is cooked

  10. Food is ready when cabbage is tender

  11. Slow Pot Cooker Directions

  12. Transfer ingredients to slow pot cooker and cook on auto for 6-8 hours or until cabbage is tender
