From the Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook

Recipe Ingredients for Cornbread

1 cup flour
1 cup cornmeal
4 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup skim milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil

Recipe Directions for Cornbread

  1. Mix together flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt.

  2. In a separate bowl, beat eggs and mix in milk and oil.

  3. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix until just combined.

  4. Put in greased 9x9 baking dish.

  5. Bake at 425 for 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into middle of bread comes out clean.
