Moist, multigrain cornbread. Very Tasty!

Recipe Ingredients for Cornbread

1 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup steel cut oats
1 cup water
1/2 cup wheat germ
1 1/2 cups corn meal
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups skim milk
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
4 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon flax seed

Recipe Directions for Cornbread

  1. Cook oats in water.

  2. Add oats to dry ingredients.

  3. Add milk and applesauce.

  4. Mix boiling 4 tablespoons water with 1 tablespoon flax seed, let stand 2 mins. Add to batter.

  5. Pour into 9X13 pan (greased), bake at 375 for 30 minutes.
