Cornbread from scratch with plain cornmeal.

Recipe Ingredients for Cornbread

1 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup fat free milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil

Recipe Directions for Cornbread

  1. Preheat oven to 425 deg. Pour oil into 9x9x2 pan and heat in oven until hot.

  2. Stir together well the flour, s ugar, baking powder, salt and cornmeal.

  3. Beat eggs slightly, add milk.

  4. Combine egg mixure with the dry ingredients.

  5. Add the hot oil to the mixture and stir well.

  6. Pour into the pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
