Northern style corn bread without sugar.

Recipe Ingredients for Cornbread with Green Chiles

0.75 cup Wheat Flour, White, All-purpose, Enriched, Unbleached
1.25 cup dry Organic Medium Grind Cornmeal
2 tsp Baking Powder
0.5 tsp Baking Soda
0.5 tsp Salt, Table
0.67 cup Whole Milk
2 large Egg, Whole
5.36 ounces Voskos Greek Yogurt (Plain, Non-Fat)
2 tbsp Butter
1 tbsp Shortening, Household, Lard And Vegetable Oil

Recipe Directions for Cornbread with Green Chiles

  1. Mix all dry ingredients together. In a separate bowl, mix milk, yogurt and eggs. Add butter, melted, and mix everything together. Fold in diced green chiles.

  2. Heat a cast iron skilled in a 425 degree oven with the bacon fat. When fat is melted, pour in the batter and bake for 20-25 minutes.
