A somewhat dry, biscuit-like loaf with a hint of corn flavour to serve with buttery spread. Great with chili.

Recipe Ingredients for Corn Flour Bread

1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup yellow corn flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 tablespoons corn starch
1/4 cup water

Recipe Directions for Corn Flour Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

  2. Mix dry ingredients, except corn starch, together in medium mixing bowl.

  3. Mix 1/4 cup water with corn starch in small bowl. Add applesauce and other cup of water. Mix together.

  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry and combine.

  5. Pour batter into a non-stick 8" pan or sprayed pan. Bake until top is lightly browned, about 20 minutes
