sort of a pasta like dumpling which is boiled and eaten with anything saucy like cooked tomatoes with onion or stewed fish

Recipe Ingredients for corn dumpling

1 cup cornmeal
1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 tbls canola oil
1/2 cup water

Recipe Directions for corn dumpling

mix all dry ingredients make hole in center add water and oil, mix till all water absorbed, add extra water if necessary, dough should be fairly hard to medium hard. knead on counter till smooth, let stand about 20 miinutes. Put water in pot to boil add salt break small pieces of dough, roll between palms of both hands like small log then flatten slightly, both end will be pointy and middle flat. Add to boiling water when floats at top let cook for another minute and drain. Any kind of fresh or dried herbs can be added to flour before kneading. Sizes of dumpling can be made at any size. This can be eaten with anything. or can be sauted wih onions and herbs with little butter or oil or both.
