Corn bread - better homes & gardens recipe

Recipe Ingredients for Corn Bread

1 cup flour
1 cup cornmeal
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs (beaten)
1 cup 2% milk
1/4 cup cooking oil

Recipe Directions for Corn Bread

  1. grease bottom and 1/2 inch up sides of 9x9x2 or 8x8x2 inch baking ban; set aside.

  2. in a medium mixing bowl stir tgether the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

  3. In another bowl combine the eggs, milk, and cooking oil. Add egg mixture all at once to dry mixture. Stir until just moistened.

  4. Spoon batter into prepared pan.

  5. Bake at 425 for 20-25 minutes or till a wooden toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack.
