Recipe Ingredients for Cookie Dough Brownies (winner)

8 ounces unsalted butter, 2 sticks
6 ounces vanilla yogurt, (one sm. container)
1 1/2 cups baking cocoa, sifted (1 cup reg, 1/2 Dutch process)
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups light brown sugar, packed , 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups whole wheat pastry flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 c. butter, melt half
3/4 c. white sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt , 1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. oat flour
1 1/2 c. flour
3 tbsp. skim milk
2 oz. semisweet chocolate chips, Nestle mini
1 1/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 teaspoons Crisco
1/4 cup walnuts, toasted & chopped

Recipe Directions for Cookie Dough Brownies (winner)

  1. BROWNIE BASE: Preheat oven to 350.

  2. Melt butter in saucepan, remove from heat and add cocoa (I used half regular, half Dutch), cool slighty.

  3. Whisk eggs, sugar, vanilla and add to chocolate mix. Gradually add flour and salt.

  4. Spread batter into 13x 9 pan (lined w/ parchment paper or aluminum foil) and buttered. Bake 40-45 minutes until crust forms on top.

  5. FILLING: Beat together smart balance, salt, both sugars, and vanilla. Add flours and stir until is incorporated. Add honey only if dough is not too soft, then stir in chips. Spread this mixture over cooled brownies and place in refrigerator for about 30 minutes to help firm up dough.

  6. TOPPING:In a microwave-safe bowl or in a double boiler, melt chocolate and Crisco. microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir and repeat until melted. Spread melted chocolate mixture over cookie dough. Sprinkle walnuts over top. Allow chocolate to set in fridge, then lift from pan and cut into bars.
