This is a great starter. You can make it with a bit more water and you get somewhat of a soup, or let it cook and eat it with a plate of rice

Recipe Ingredients for Columbian Lentils

1 serving (Unico) Lentils
1 small whole (2-2/5" dia) Tomatoes, Red, Ripe
1 small Onions
4 serving (Compliments) Ground Cumin CDA
4 serving (Compliments) Ground Cumin CDA
1 tsp Salt, Table
1.5 serving (Bunge Canada) Capri Vegetable Oil
1 serving (Grand Bend Produce Co Ltd) Henry's Harvest Gourmet Mini Potatoes CDA

Recipe Directions for Columbian Lentils

  1. Combine the lentils, water, tomato, onion, cumin, salt, and vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat; bring to a boil.

  2. Cook and stir at a boil until the lentils are soft, about 30 minutes. Add the potatoes and cook until the potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes more.
