Recipe Ingredients for collard greens with red onions and bacon

1/2 lb bacon
3 medium red onions
1 cups chicken broth
2 T cider vinegar
2 T dark brown sugar
1/2 t dried hot red pepper flakes
2 lb collard greens

Recipe Directions for collard greens with red onions and bacon

Cook bacon then drain. Add onions to bacon fat. Cook until browned slightly and softened. Drain onions. Add broth, vinegar, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Add collards and simmer, covered, 30 minutes. Stir in onions and simmer another 30 minutes.
