This recipe is simple to make and stores very well.

Recipe Ingredients for Cole Slaw

8 cups cabbage
3 carrots, shredded
1 green pepper, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1 cup sugar
1 cup vinegar
1 tablespoon salt
3/4 cup oil
2 tablespoon sugar

Recipe Directions for Cole Slaw

  1. Mix first 4 ingredients and pour 1 cup sugar over cabbage mixture. do not stir.

  2. Bring to a boil the next 4 ingredients. Pour over slaw without stirring and chill at least 4 hours

  3. For a more colorful slaw use 1/2 green cabbage and 1/2 red cabbage. To reduce calories replace sugar with Splenda.
