from the Uncheese cookbook; nutrition based on 2 T serving size

Recipe Ingredients for Colby Cheeze

1 1/2 c water
5 T agar flakes (or 5 rounded t agar powder)
1/2 c pimiento
1/2 c cashew (raw pieces)
1/4 c nutritional yeast
3 T lemon juice
2 T tahini
2 t onion granules
1 t salt
1/4 t garlic granules
1/8 t ground dill seed
1/8 t mustard powder

Recipe Directions for Colby Cheeze

  1. Grind cashews in blender. Add all other ingredients except agar and water.

  2. Bring water and agar to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring often.

  3. Add agar to blender and blend until completely smooth.

  4. Pour into 3 cup mold and cool. Chill in fridge several hours or overnight.
