2tbs flour 2 tbs sugar 1 tbs cocoa 1 tbs butter or oil 2 tbs milk 1/4 tsp cinnamon (or chili powder) Whipped cream to taste Simple quick cheap cake in a mug. A nice reward to end my week.

Recipe Ingredients for Coffemug Cake

0.125 cup Gold Medal All Purpose Flour
1 tbsp Cocoa, Dry Powder, Unsweetened
0.125 cup Sugars, Granulated
0.125 cup Whole Milk
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil, Canola
0.25 tsp Cinnamon, Ground

Recipe Directions for Coffemug Cake

  1. Combine dry ingredients in a mug.

  2. Add wet ingredients and stir. If you want to substitute butter for oil, melt butter in a separate cup with the milk, then add to mug. 1tsp vanilla optional.

  3. Microwave for 90 seconds, or until center is dry.

  4. Top with whipped cream if desired.

  5. Since the quantities are so small, it's fun to try substitutes. I like using whole wheat flour and adding calcium supplement powder. For a kick, replace the cinnamon with a dash of chili powder or cayenne pepper!
