Spicy cluster beans curry with ground legumes

Recipe Ingredients for Cluster Beans Paruppusli

500 g green beans, chopped
1 1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
4 ozs pigeon peas, soaked for 2 hours and drained
6 g red chilis
1 tbs olive oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
5 g Urid dal

Recipe Directions for Cluster Beans Paruppusli

  1. Cook cluster beans with half the amount of salt.

  2. Grind soaked lentils with asafoetida, red chilis and the rest of the salt to a coarse paste.

  3. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.

  4. After mustard pops, add black lentils and fry until they turn golden brown.

  5. Add ground lentils and fry, till paste tuens golden brown.

  6. Add cooked cluster beans and mix thoroughly
