A cleaner version of a regular protein bar. Any particular protein powder and flour can be used, but will probably change the nutrition info somewhat. I used what I already had.

Recipe Ingredients for Clean-Eating Power Protein Bars

8 oz Whey Protein Powder
0.5 cup Whole Grain Oat Flour
2 cup Oats, Rolled, Regular Old Fashioned
1/2 cup Oat Bran Hot Cereal
4 oz Flaxseed Meal
4 oz Wheat Germ, Untoasted
1 tsp Sea Salt
1 tsp Cinnamon, Ground
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
4 oz Natural Cane Turbinado Sugar
8 oz Organic Dark Chocolate Chips
16 oz Yogurt Cheese Fresh
0.25 cup Vegetable Oil, Canola
0.67 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Recipe Directions for Clean-Eating Power Protein Bars

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 9x13 inch pan with cooking spray

  2. In large mixing bowl combine protein powder, flour, oats, oat bran, flax seed, wheat germ, sea salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar. Stir in chocolate chips.

  3. In another bowl mix the yogurt cheese, oils and vanilla. Mix well. Add the yogurt cheese mix to the dry ingredients. Use your hands (covered in olive oil) to combine these well.

  4. Place mixture in prepared pan. Press it down and even out the top. Bake on middle rack in oven for 15 minutes. Remove from heat. Let cool and cut into bars. Place these bars on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and bake again for another 15 minutes. Transfer to wire cooling rack and let cool. Place in airtight container and store in refrigerator.
