Fetched this simple recipe off a site a few years ago and it's always served me well.

Recipe Ingredients for Classic Meat Loaf

1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup minced celery
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 eggs
1/2 cup minced onion
8 oz. tomato sauce
1/4 c. milk
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons mustard
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon paprika

Recipe Directions for Classic Meat Loaf

  1. Beat eggs with fork, fold in ground meat and stir together.

  2. Add breadcrumbs, onion, celery, tomato sauce, salt and pepper.

  3. Add milk and blend with fork.

  4. Mix with hands and form into a loaf. Mixture should be slightly firm.

  5. Put into loaf pan and spread even with hands.

  6. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

  7. Leftover meatloaf makes good sandwiches.
