Using 250 grams of gruyere cheese, 100 grams emmental and 100 grams comte.

Recipe Ingredients for Classic Cheese Fondue

450 grams cheese
1 cup white wine
2 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp lemon juice

Recipe Directions for Classic Cheese Fondue

  1. Rub the fondue pot with raw garlic and discard the garlic.

  2. Heat the wine and lemon juice without bringing it to a boil.

  3. Add cheese shredded and mixed with cornstarch in small handfuls to the pot.

  4. Melt it over low heat and wait for it to bind together.

  5. Add nutmeg, black pepper and 2 tbsp Kirsch.

  6. Place over an open flame and dip in the french bread cut into cubes.
