Delicious traditional black bean (and rice) recipe that is great for a low cholesterol diet and high in protein!

Recipe Ingredients for Classic Black Beans

2 tbsp. Olive Oil
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup red pepper, chopped
15 1/2 oz. black beans, undrained
3/4 cup water
1 tsp. oregano
1 tbsp. cider vinegar

Recipe Directions for Classic Black Beans

Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add oinion and pepper; cook until tender, about 8-10 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. Serve over your favorite type of rice.
