Deliciously moist and tasty. Great recipe for using up those over-ripe bananas stored in your freezer! Great for taking to occasions and holidays and also for Sunday Morning!! Can be altered to taste-try whole wheat flour or plain yogurt instead of sour cream. Add nuts if desired.

Recipe Ingredients for Classic Banana Bread

2 ripe medium bananas
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter (softened)
1 egg
1/4 cup sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Recipe Directions for Classic Banana Bread

Puree bananas in blender (should have approx 1 cup). Beat sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in egg. Beat in banana, sour cream and vanilla until blended. Combine flour, baking powder, soda, salt and cinnamon. Add to banana mixture. Beat until blended. Pour into 9X5X2 inch loaf pan. Bake in 350 degree oven 65-70 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes, then invert on wire rack to completely cool.
