Whole wheat bread recipe from King Arthur Flour. Moist and tasty bread, can be sliced as thin as you want.

Recipe Ingredients for Classic 100% Whole Wheat Bread

1 c water
1/4 c canola oil
3 T molasses
1 T honey
3 1/2 c 100% whole wheat flour
2 1/2 t instant yeast
1/4 c Instant Nonfat Dry Milk
1 1/4 t salt

Recipe Directions for Classic 100% Whole Wheat Bread

  1. Combine all, knead for 6-8 minutes by hand or stand mixer. Dough should be soft, supple, but still firm enough to knead. Adjust consistency with more water or flour, but too much flour will result in a dry loaf.

  2. Allow to rise til puffy, about 1-2 hours. Transfer to lightly oiled work surface and form into loaf. Place into greased 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" loaf pan. Let rise 1-2 hours, til center has crowned about 1" above pan rim.

  3. Bake at 350 degress for 40 minutes, tenting loosely with foil after first 20 minutes.
