A bowtie pasta dish with tomatoes and clams

Recipe Ingredients for Clams & Bowties

8 ounces pasta, dry
32 ounces canned tomatoes, diced
1/4 cup red wine
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp basil
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp crushed red pepper
1 tsp parsley
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
13 ounces minced clams

Recipe Directions for Clams & Bowties

  1. Melt butter and heat olive oil in a skillet.

  2. Stir in onion powder and garlic.

  3. Combine tomatoes, clams (drained with 1/3 cup clam juice reserved), reserved clam juice, spices and wine.

  4. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.

  5. Simultaneously cook bowtie pasta until it is al dente.

  6. Combine pasta with sauce when finished and serve with grated parmesan cheese, if you like.
