Delicious cold-weather soup using clams, potatoes, and cream of mushroom soup.

Recipe Ingredients for Clam Chowder

0.46 oz. bacon, ready to serve, cooked and crumbled
13 oz clams, minced
3 cups potatoes, cubed
1 cup onion, chopped
1 cup carrots, shredded
10 3/4 oz cream of mushroom soup
1/4 tsp pepper
3 cups evaporated milk

Recipe Directions for Clam Chowder

  1. In a skillet cook bacon till crisp: drain. Drain clams, reserving liquid: add water to liquid to equal 1 3/4 cups. Cover clams, chill.

  2. In a 3 1/2 or 4- quart crock pot combine reserved clam liquid, potatoes, onion, and carrots. stir in mushroom soup and pepper. Add bacon. Cover; cook on low heat setting for 9 to 11 hours or high heat setting for 4 to 5 hours.

  3. If crock pot was on low heat setting, turn to high heat setting. Stir in clams and evaporated milk. Cover; cook for 1 hour more.
