Lower fat version of clam chowder

Recipe Ingredients for Clam Chowder

2 quarts of fat free half and half
3/4 cup brummel and brown
2 cups potato
1 cup carrots
1 cup celery
1/4 cup onions
3/4 cup flour
5 cans clams
1 salt
1 pepper

Recipe Directions for Clam Chowder

  1. In pan put chopped onions, carrots, celery, and potatoes

  2. Cover with clam juice ONLY

  3. Set clams aside

  4. In large pot, melt Brummel & Brown

  5. Add flour slowly

  6. Mix until smooth

  7. Add half and half

  8. Stirring until thick and creamy

  9. When vegetables are done, put into large pot with creamy mixture.

  10. Heat thoroughly.

  11. Do not boil.

  12. Add clams. Do overcook.

  13. Add salt and pepper to taste.
