doughnut-like puffs! you could melt butter and add the cinnamon sugar mixture as a topping after these are done baking if you would like, or keep the melted sugar cinnamon variation i used to cut out butter.

Recipe Ingredients for Cinnamon Puffs

1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter
1 egg
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon

Recipe Directions for Cinnamon Puffs

  1. Cream sugar and butter.

  2. Add egg.

  3. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.

  4. Add dry ingredients, except 1/2 cup sugar and tablespoon cinnamon, alternately to butter mixture.

  5. Beat well after each addition.

  6. Spoon batter into greased muffin tins.

  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

  8. Before they are totally done, remove and sprinkle mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and tablespoon cinnamon.

  9. Return to oven until done.

  10. Cool 5 minutes, then remove from tins.
