Cinnamon Granola Recipe

Healthy, homemade granola. Modified from The Everything Low-Cholesterol Cookbook by Linda Larsen.

Recipe Ingredients for Cinnamon Granola

4 cups oats
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup flaxseed
3/4 cup cashews, chopped
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons orange juice
1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 cup dried cranberries
1 cup raisins

Recipe Directions for Cinnamon Granola

  1. Combine oats, wheat germ, flaxseed, cashews, and sunflower seeds.

  2. In a saucepan, combine canola oil, honey, brown sugar, orange juice and salt. Heat till warm and sugar dissolved. Remove from heat and add vanilla.

  3. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

  4. Pour syrup over dry ingredients. Stir to coat.

  5. Line a cookie sheet with parchment and spread granola out and place in oven.

  6. Bake 45 minutes, stirring every 10 min.

  7. Remove from oven. Mix in fruit and cinnamon.

  8. Let cool and store in an air tight container.
