From Black&Decker bread machine recipe booklet. Original recipe called for 4 1/4 cups white flour. I substitute 1 cup of whole wheat and add a tsp of cinnamon to the dough to hide the whole wheat.

Recipe Ingredients for Cinnamon buns

1 1/4 cups warm water
3 tbsp skim milk powder
1 medium egg
1 egg yolk
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/4 tsp salt
3 1/4 cups flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 1/4 tsp yeast
4 tbsp unsalted butter
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
3 tbsp water
3 tbsp unsalted butter
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon

Recipe Directions for Cinnamon buns

  1. Place water through salt in bread machine. Then add flour and cinnamon. Lastly add yeast. Start bread machine to make dough.

  2. Make syrup by combining 1/4 cup butter, through 3 tbsp of water in sauce pan. Heat until boiling. Then spread on bottom of a greased 13"x9" pan (like a lasagna pan).

  3. Combine 2/3 cup brown sugar and 1 tbsp cinnamon.

  4. When dough is ready roll out to 12"x18" brush 3 tbsp meltad butter on top of dough. Sprinkle sugar cinnamon mixture.

  5. Roll in 12" direction. Cut into 12 equal size pieces (about 3" each). Place in pan. Allow to rise for approx. 30 minutes, or until almost doubled in size.

  6. Cook in 375 degree oven approx. 30 minutes until golden brown. Remove to cookie sheet (upside down).

  7. Allow to cool and enjoy.
