Recipe Ingredients for cinnamon buns

3 tsp yeast
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup shortening
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup milk
1 egg
4 cups flour
1 cups brown sugar
1 stick butter
5 tbs cinnamon

Recipe Directions for cinnamon buns

add warm water to yeast with teaspoon of sugar and let sit 10 minutes. scald milk, pour over shortning.add sugar and salt and cool to tepid. Add the dissolved yeast and beaten egg Add 4 cups flour adding one at a time beating after each addition. Dough should be soft yet firm. kneed 10 minutes in kitchen aid with dough hook. Turn dough into well oild bow. let rise for 1-1/2 hours. Press dough down and roll out to triangle 15"x24". use spatula and spread softened butter evenly over dough. sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture. roll dough up jell roll style. Use dental floss and cut pieces 1" to 11/2" put in round gresed bakin pan. let rise until rolls fill the pan, about 1 hour. bake in a 350 oven for 15-20 min. if rolls get too brown cover with a piece of foil untill the end of baking, do not over bake rolls. Remove immediately from pan by inberting onto a plate and then tip over onto another plate to right the rolls. frosting optional. 2 cups powdered sugar,1 tbs butter melted, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 2-4 tablespoons milk.
