Lowfat version of Cincinnati chili

Recipe Ingredients for Cincinnati chili

8 cups water
1 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic
1 cup chopped bell pepper
1 cup chopped fresh tomato
24 oz diced tomato
6 oz tomato paste, no sodium added
30 oz kidney beans, no sodium added
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons cumin
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon allspice
1 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
1 oz dark chocolate
2 cups dried TVP

Recipe Directions for Cincinnati chili

  1. Bring water to boil.

  2. Add onions, garlic, peppers.

  3. Add tomatoes, tomato paste and TVP.

  4. Add beans and spices.

  5. Mix in vinegar.

  6. Reduce heat.

  7. Let simmer uncovered two hours.
