Makes 2 servings



Recipe for italian bread Ciabatta, made from sourdough starter. Makes two loaves.

Recipe Ingredients for Ciabatta

200 ml water
175 g white flour
1/2 tsp dried yeast
200 ml water
2 tbsp skimmed milk
2 tbsp olive oil
325 g white flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp dried yeast

Recipe Directions for Ciabatta

  1. Mix first three ingredients to wet dough.

  2. Leave at least 12 h to ferment.

  3. Mix in the remaining ingredients and knead the very wet mixture with a wooden spoon for several minutes.

  4. Leave for 1 h.

  5. Divide dough into two and pour onto two separate, floured, baking sheets.

  6. Shape, as best you can, into two long loaves.

  7. Leave to rise for 30 minutes, uncovered.

  8. Bake in hot oven (220 degrees Celsius) for 20-25 minutes, until they sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
