Uses Whole canned tomatoes, very tasty!

Recipe Ingredients for Chunky Tomato Sauce

2 tsp olive oil
1/2 cup onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup carrots, chopped
2 tbsp tomato paste
28 oz. canned tomatoes with juice
1 cup water
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/4 cup red wine
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Recipe Directions for Chunky Tomato Sauce

  1. Heat oil in a sauce pan

  2. Add chopped onion and saute 3-4 minutes until softened. Add garlic and carrots, saute for another minute or so. Pour wine into pan and bring to a boil. Add tomato paste and stir to loosen. Add canned tomatoes, crushing with a fork.

  3. Add in herbs and water, stirring to combine. Let simmer, covered until sauce is thickened, and well flavored.

  4. Goes really well with spaghetti squash!
