My favorite Christmas or wintertime breakfast.

Recipe Ingredients for Christmas Brunch Casserole

6 large eggs, slight beaten
6 slices whole wheat bread
1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
12 oz evaporated milk
4 oz 2% milk
1 tsp dry mustard
1 lb pork sausage

Recipe Directions for Christmas Brunch Casserole

  1. Brown sausage and drain. Break into little pieces.

  2. Cut bread into cubes.

  3. Combine beaten eggs, both milks and dry mustard; mix well.

  4. In a greased 13x9x2 inch baking dish, layer the following: bread, sausage, cheese.

  5. Pour egg mixture over cheese.

  6. Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate overnight.

  7. Remove from refrigerator 15 minutes prior to baking.

  8. Bake covered, at 350 for 30 minutes.

  9. Uncover and bake 15 minutes more at 350.

  10. Remove from oven when casserole is set and cheese is slightly browned.
