1 package Yeast
3 cups Flour
4 tbls Sugar
2 Eggs
6 tbls oil, Vegetable
1 1/2 tsp Salt
3/4 cup water, warm

  1. Combine all ingredients in the pan in the order

  4. machine. You can bake it in your machine OR follow the

  5. directions below.

  8. rise); and then braid and rise again; then put an egg

  9. wash over the challa.

  10. 3. EGG WASH: One egg beaten with an equal amount of

  11. water. Brush on liberally BEFORE baking and then once

  12. during the bake. It makes the challa have a hard and

  13. shiny crust. BEAUTIFUL. You can sprinkle on seeds of

  14. your choice , (sesame or poppy), after the first

  15. `wash'.

  16. 4. BAKE in a 350 degree oven until a light toasty

  17. brown.
