Recipe Ingredients for christina's chile relleno casserole

4 large eggs
2 cups milk
1 lb sharp cheddar cheese
1 lb monterey jack cheese
21 oz jalapenos
1/2 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper

Recipe Directions for christina's chile relleno casserole

  1. beat eggs, milk, flour, salt, and pepper together in a bowl.

  2. shred cheese

  3. cut peppers in half (the cc recipe creator couldn't find green chiles, which is what this recipe actually calls for, not jalapenos. use canned whole green chiles, like from ortega)

  4. layer one 7 oz can of chiles on a greased baking pan

  5. sprinkle one third of the cheese on top

  6. repeat the layering twice

  7. pour combination of liquid ingredients over top

  8. let sit for half an hour

  9. bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until golden at edges and puffy in center
