Recipe Ingredients for Chowder

1 cup, diced Celery
1 cup, chopped Carrots
1 cup, chopped Onions
1 cup Potatoes, Boiled
1 stick Butter
0.75 cup Gold Medal All Purpose Flour
2 cup, chopped or diced Chicken, Breast, Meat Only
1 quart Milk, Reduced Fat, Fluid, 2% Milkfat
2 tsp Vinegar red wine

Recipe Directions for Chowder

  1. Drain juice from clams or if chicken add boulion, into a large skillet over the onions, celery, potatoes and carrots. Add water to cover, and cook over medium heat until tender.

  2. Meanwhile, in a large, heavy saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour until smooth. Whisk in Milk and stir constantly until thick and smooth. Stir in vegetables and juice. Heat through, but do not boil.

  3. Stir in clams, chicken or turkey just before serving. Clams only: If they cook too much they get tough. When meat are heated through, stir in vinegar, and season with salt and pepper.
