Yields ~ 3 dozen very small cookies. More realistically probably ~2 dozen.

Recipe Ingredients for Chocolate Snaps

2 cup Wheat Flour, White, All-purpose, Enriched, Bleached
1 tsp Baking Soda
0.5 tsp Kosher Salt
7.5 oz Butter
0.5 cup Cocoa, Dry Powder, Unsweetened
1 cup Sugars, Granulated
0.5 cup, packed Sugars, Brown
2 medium Egg, Whole
1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Recipe Directions for Chocolate Snaps

  1. Sift flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

  2. In med. saucepan over med. heat, melt 3 T butter.

  3. Stir in cocoa, remove from heat, set aside to cool.

  4. In large bowl, cream butter, 1 C white sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.

  5. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in cocoa mixture and vanilla.

  6. Blend sifted ingredients in to form a soft dough.

  7. Cover and refrigerate 1-2 hours.

  8. When ready to cook, preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  9. Roll chilled dough into 1 inch balls (36 cookies) or ~1.5 inch balls (24 cookies).

  10. Roll them in sugar, place on greased cookie sheet.

  11. Bake 8-10 minutes in preheated oven.

  12. Allow cookies to cool ~5 min., remove to wire rack.
