Taste-tempting chocolate cookie bars

Recipe Ingredients for Chocolate Revel Bars

1 cup butter
2 1/2 cup all purpose flour
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Recipe Directions for Chocolate Revel Bars

  1. In a mixing bowl beat the 1 cup butter with electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add about half of the flour, the brown sugar, eggs, 2 teaspoons of the vanilla, and the baking soda. Beat till thoroughly combined. Beat in remaining flour. Stir in oats.

  2. In a medium saucepan combine chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and the 2 tablespoons butter. Cook over low heat till chocolate melts, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in walnuts and remaining 1 teaspoon vanilla

  3. Press two-thirds (about 3 1/3 cups) of the rolled-oats mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 15 x 10 1 inch baking pan. Spread chocolate mixture over the oat mixture. Using your fingers, dot remaining oat mixture over chocolate.

  4. Bake in a 350 degree oven about 25 minutes or till top is lightly browned (chocolate mixture will still look moist.) Cool on a wire rack. Makes 60.
