Smooth silky chocolate pie, can top with meringue, whipping cream or enjoy it with out.

Recipe Ingredients for Chocolate pie

2 cups white sugar
5 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
12 fluid ounce evaporated milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 egg yolks
1/4 cup margarine
1 pastry crust

Recipe Directions for Chocolate pie

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  2. In a saucepan, whisk together 2 cups sugar, cocoa and flour.

  3. Blend in evaporated milk and vanilla add the butter or margarine. Slowly heat, stirring constantly just until butter, sugar and chocolate are melted.

  4. Allow chocolate mixture to cool to about room temperature.

  5. Beat egg yolks and mix into chocolate mixture.

  6. Pour filling into unbaked pie shell.

  7. Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until pie is not "wobbly" when shaken.
