Very simple but elaborate dessert for a special occasion

Recipe Ingredients for Chocolate and Orange Puddings

3 oz dark chocolate
3 oz margarine
3 oz caster sugar
2 large eggs, beaten
6 oz self raising flour
2 oz ground almonds
30 ml Grand Marnier
142 ml double cream
1 tbsp caster sugar
15 ml Grand Marnier, for the sauce

Recipe Directions for Chocolate and Orange Puddings

  1. Grease 4 ramekins.

  2. Put chocolate in a bowl above a saucepan of boiling water to melt, making sure water doesn?t touch bowl. Stir until smooth and cool.

  3. Put butter in a bowl and cream with the sugar. Add the egg a bit at a time.

  4. Add the flour, almonds, chocolate and liqueur. Fold together with a metal spoon.

  5. Spoon into the prepared ramekins, cover each with a circle of greaseproof paper, cover completely with foil, and put in a small roasting tin.

  6. Pour in enough boiling water to come halfway up. Bake for 25 ? 30 mins.

  7. Put cream, sugar and liqueur in a pan and heat gently. Bring to the boil and simmer, 2 ? 3 minutes.

  8. Turn out the puddings onto a serving dish. Spoon cream sauce over to serve
