Chocolate home-made granola with peanuts and strawberries

Recipe Ingredients for Chocolate granola with peanuts and strawberries

3 cup Oats, Regular And Quick And Instant, Unenriched, Dry
3 oz Pure US Grade A Clover Honey
3 oz Vegetable Oil
16 oz Peanuts, All Types, Dry-roasted
0.25 cup Cocoa, Dry Powder, Unsweetened
0.3 cup, unpacked Sugars, Brown
2 cup, whole Strawberries
2 cup, whole Strawberries

Recipe Directions for Chocolate granola with peanuts and strawberries

  1. Put (dried) Strawberries (or cherries) aside

  2. mix dry ingredients, breaking up clumps of brown sugar

  3. mix oil, honey and small amount of water (it helps to put it in the microwave for 1 minute and mix it together)

  4. slowly add wet ingredients, mixing as you pour.

  5. place granola on dryer sheets in a comercial food dryer on the highest setting (150deg) for 4 hours, OR your oven on the lowest setting. If in the oven, turn granola every 5-10 minutes until crunchy

  6. add strawberries and store in a container in a cool, dry place.

  7. tip: because this uses so much oats, I keep the container and re-use it, marking it for the appropriate granola.
