Recipe Ingredients for Chocolate (cup) cake

188 g all purpose flour
150 g granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
30 g unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
80 ml olive oil
15 ml white vinegar
235 ml cold water

Recipe Directions for Chocolate (cup) cake

  1. Preheat oven 350F ( 180C or gas mark 4)

  2. Oil bundt / 9inch springform / muffin tins.

  3. Combine flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, and cocoa powder in a bowl thoroughly. Create a well in the centre of dry ingredients, add the vanilla, oil vinegar, and water. mix until just combined. Pour into prepared pan, and bake 30 minutes. If making cupcakes, check for doneness after 15 minutes.

  4. Add one butter cream or chocolate frosting if desired.
